Chapter Four – Endowment of Divine Proportions by Roddie Nelson

“It takes wisdom and discernment to minister to people in need. We must look beyond the apparent and seek to meet the needs of the whole person.” -Richard C. Chewing

It was a Tuesday in August of 1999 as Pastor Fernando and I drove to a new disciples meeting in Mexico City. I had arrived in Mexico a week early to prepare for a team of 25 people that would be accompanying my wife to do mission work inside the city. The location of the gathering was in one of the poorest and most deprived areas I had ever seen. We made our journey up some broken rocks that were supposed to be stairs. We walked into the house of a family who had opened up their home for the occasion. The home was about 300 square feet big. The walls were held together by homemade cement. You could see all the leak cracks and the filth emanating from the entire house. I remember thinking that this must have been what it was like in the days of the early church. The building was not important. The opportunity to meet together and see if God shows up was the purpose. We sat down on a couch and then were offered a glass of flavored water. Normally, I would have politely declined, because I would not have wanted “Montezuma’s revenge” to hit me later. This time I received it and drank all of it because I knew that they were honoring me with this. It was there token of appreciation for me to join with them. As the meeting was about to ensue, Pastor Fernando looks at me and tells me that I need to preach to the people. At this point in our lives, neither one of us could speak the others language very well. He could understand most English but he had difficulty communicating it. My Spanish was limited to two phrases, “Como Estas”(How are you) and “Dios te Bendiga” (God Bless You). In response to the Pastors request I asked him who was going to translate. He told me that no one was going to translate and that I needed to preach in Spanish. There were only thirteen people in the room besides he and I. For the next few moments, Pastor Fernando and I are going back and forth about who is going to deliver the message. As long as I had known Fernando, he had been a jokester, but this time he felt like he needed to challenge me. Finally, I gave in and did the only thing I knew to do. I raised my hands in the air and I said, “Holy Spirit help me”. For the next hour, I ministered the word of God fluently in Spanish. It was like an out-of-body experience. I quoted scriptures in Spanish that I did not know in English. I began looking around at all the faces and each person was crying, including Pastor Fernando. To this day I do not know what was said in the meeting. I asked the Pastor what had been said and he told me that it was not for me, it was for them. Pastor Fernando now lives in South Carolina and pastors a church there. We have maintained our friendship all of these years and from time to time I will ask him what was said in that meeting. His response is always the same. “I will never tell you because it was not meant for you to know, only for you to speak.”

The purpose of this story is not to brag on me. I was so young and inexperienced but when faced with a choice I chose to ask for help from the One who’s very name means help. Supernatural power was released to fulfill a supernatural work. The truth is that if I were faced with the same situation today, I am not sure that my response would be the same. Now, I am experienced and I have more knowledge and wisdom. Therein lies the problem with the church and the lack of power being demonstrated in it. We have grown too intelligent and technologically advanced to believe that there is still a power that is at the discretion of the believer if he would simply believe (Mark 11:24). Logic and reason have taken place of faith and power. Absolute truth and morality have been changed to interpretation of truth and morality.

Leadership within the Community of Faith is mostly at fault. The adoption of Seeker Sensitive and Purpose Driven Churches have taken away the emphasis and the value of the cross and especially the importance of the Holy Spirit. Theology, doctrine, motivational speeches, and good programs have been placed in higher esteem than relationship with the one who is the very source of our existence. Where are the days when someone on a train stops a man and tells him that he is convicted of his sins simply because the man walks in power? When are the moments when a young boy on his death bed can be raised up by a power that is radiating form another person’s core? The answer comes down to profitability and control. The truth is that most leaders, even spirit-filled ones, are not sure if they want the fullness of the power of the Holy Spirit. History tells us that when power is released that people begin to get out of control. Every great revival that was started happened because of people who were not satisfied with what they had. They cried out for an Endowment of Divine Proportions. When revival happened people got saved, healed, delivered, restored, increased, and altogether blessed. The problem is that if you study the demise of most revivals, they came as a result of mans inability to continue giving glory to the Lord and they tried to control the way the Holy Spirit moved.

Up until now, I have given opinion based on personal experience and study. Now I hope to bring truth alongside reason. There are several questions that need to be answered. Is the power of God needed in the church today? Secondly, how do we receive and release this power? What are some of the possibilities of a modern day outpouring of the Holy Ghost? I hope to answer these questions through the greatest source of truth. The Word of God.

Is the Power of God Needed in Today’s Church?

In order for anyone to pursue something they must first acknowledge there need for it. In the New Testament there are two Greek words used when describing power. One is dunamis which means a miraculous power, a force, a strength, or an ability to perform a work. The other word used is exousia which is a privilege, a force, or a delegated influence, jurisdiction, or a right. When Jesus chose his twelve disciples in Matthew 10, the Bible says that He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. This was a delegated influence that Jesus bestowed upon his disciples. The question is, why would Jesus feel the importance at the inauguration of the twelve to release to them power that they did not understand nor had an ability to control? He was going to be with them for a few years. Why not wait until after he is gone to give them this ability? In Acts 1:7 it says that Jesus instructs His disciples to wait for the Holy Ghost and that when he comes they will receive the power. It is interesting to note that in the passage in Matthew 10 the disciples received the exousia and in the Book of Acts the received the dunamis. In Matthew they inherited the right, but in Acts they were imparted the ability. One of the things that the Body of Christ is lacking, is not the understanding of their right, but rather the ability to activate and operate in that Endowment of Divine Proportions.

The disciples were going to carry on a legacy and in order for them to do that, it was vital that they operated in the same capacitates that Jesus did. The same is true today. If the church is going to carry on the legacy of Jesus then we must be able to operate with the same aptitude that He and they walked in. Many people use the Scripture in I Corinthians 13 that talks about when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away with (v.10). The contention is that Jesus is that which is perfect and that He has already come. The problem with that teaching is that gifting, prophesies, healing, and deliverance all took place after Jesus ascended. The disciples continued operating in these things. The early church flourished and grew because of the overabundance of power being manifested. That which is perfect is referring to the completion of God’s purpose after the second coming of Christ. If it has not been done away with that means it is still available. If it is available that means it is still necessary for God’s people to operate in it. Jesus knew that his disciples would witness a demonstration of power that had never been witnessed before. He wanted them to know that what he operated in was unlimited.

Jesus was never questioned about his ability to heal. He was only questioned about His ability to save. The reason they could not question his abilities is because His capacity was in full display. He healed the blind, the sick, the deaf, the lame, the dead. He cast out devils. His power was demonstrated so that the world might know that He is real. When there is a demonstration of power people will listen to the message. What we have done in the church is we have tried to convince people of a message without validating the message. Jesus said, I came to give life. He raises the dead. Jesus said, I came to heal. Many times he healed everybody. Every time Jesus made a declaration, He backed it up with a demonstration. His defense was not in His message, but in His ability to manifest the Kingdom. Jesus says over and over that “He that believeth,” or “them that believe,” will do his work (Matt. 17:20, 21:22, Mark 9:23, 16:15-20, John 14:12).

There is a principle called the law of first mention and when something is first established it becomes a precedent for things that are to come. In the beginning when God created it was not through knowledge or through reason that the universe came into existence. It came because of Divine right and was brought about by a manifestation of power. The Kingdom of God is made up of righteousness, peace and joy, but it is demonstrated through the power of the Holy Spirit (Roman 14:17).

The Apostle Paul said that the preaching that he preached did not come from persuasive words of human wisdom but by a demonstration of the Spirit and of power. Paul was educated. He could have used his intellect, education, or experience, to convince people of his truth, but even he declares that the only way any of this is real is through an expression of power.

Jesus needed power to fulfill his purpose. The works of Jesus done through the disciples and the early church, were brought about through power. If this is true, then the only way for the church to regain prominence in a world that has lost its way is through God’s people desperately crying out for an Endowment of Divine Proportions.

How Do We Receive and Release this Power?

In order to receive the power of God and then release it into the realm of the natural, one must first be born again. Trying to operate in a gift without being born again is like trying to operate an airplane without wings. You may start the engine, but you will never fly. It happened in the Bible. People tried to buy the power. (Acts 8:18-24). The sons of Sceva tried to operate in casting out demons and they nearly lost their lives (Acts 19:13-17). The baptism of the Holy Spirit is also key to unlocking the power of God (Acts 1:8, Eph.5:18, John 1:12).

“To be baptized in the Holy Spirit is to be deeper every day, never lifted out, never coming out; it is to be in captivity, ready for gifts.” (Wigglesworth)

“Everyone who has received the Holy Spirit has within him great possibilities and unlimited power.” (Wigglesworth)

We must understand that we have been blessed with all spiritual blessing (Eph. 1:3) and with all things necessary to fulfill life and godliness (II Pet. 1:3). We must receive an anointing in order to release this power on earth. Jesus received an anointing by the Spirit without measure (John 4:32). That means that the power that Jesus operated in was unlimited. He said that we could operate in the same power. I like to think that because I am an heir with Christ that through faith there is nothing that is unattainable. The unlimited power of Almighty God has been placed into the hands of his children in order to advance His Kingdom.

Faith is the activator and the maintainer of this Power. Faith is factual and clear. It is the exchange system that we have with God. If I want to buy something here I must give money in exchange for a product or service. In the same light if I want to have something from the Lord, I must exchange something to receive it. That is Faith. The early church did not have anything but Faith. The persecuted church, even today, only has faith. But how awesome is it when God’s people believe for impossible things and receive the manifestation as God reveals himself in His Power.

What are some possibilities of a modern day outpouring?

I will end this chapter in response to this final question. We serve an unlimited God with creative power that can equip us for everything that we have need of to live a holy, righteous, and blessed life. I think of the song that says “I can only imagine”. What would the church look like if a modern day “Pentecost” came? It would shake the foundations of the world. It would effect every arena of life. It would touch into the educational fields and the political systems. It would change the way church is done and viewed on a global scale. It would effect news and sports. Economics and business would begin looking toward those with real power before making decisions. Media would be forced to focus on the movement. According to Derek Prince’s book, ” Rediscovering God’s church”, the essential feature of the assembly of God’s people is for governmental authority. The church should be a dominant force in the decisions that effect nations.

God is looking for people who will embrace the potential of the power of the Holy Ghost and allow the Lord to manifest His glory and power through them.

Paul Y. Cho said: “God is looking for men and women who will be His emergency task force to combat the forces of the devil. The Holy Spirit wants volunteers who will be at full alert whenever there is a crisis.”

God is looking for new and old disciples that will carry out a fresh mandate to revolutionize a world one person at a time. Supernatural power manifested in a natural world brings glory to a divine being. People may not want to listen to truth but they can not argue with truth demonstrated as power.

Chapter Two – The Cultivation of Inspiration by Pastor Roddie Nelson

Monday, September 21st, 2009

“When the spirit of prophecy comes upon you, you merely take your intellect and lay it off somewhere in a cool place to rest, and unship your jaw and leave it alone; it will work itself. The result is prophecy.” –Mark Twain

Inspiration lies at the heart of all prophetic ministry. It is a key that unlocks creative ability. Inspiration it what causes an ordinary person to do extraordinary things. The greatest book every written, the Bible, was given to us by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Something eternal invaded their natural reality and transformed them into spiritual authors. II Timothy 3:16 says: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (emphasis added). The word inspiration in the Greek means divinely breathed in. In other words the Scripture would only be words written from the hearts and minds of men; however, when these men came under the divine influence, they wrote from a heavenly perspective. The prophetic in its most basic operation functions with the same principle. Under the influence of the Holy Spirit a person is able to see from a heavenly, or divine perspective. It allows them to understand the heart and mind of the Lord concerning a matter.

Job 32:8 says, “But there is a spirit in man and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.” The word inspiration in the Hebrew is nesha ma h. The word means divine inspiration but also speaks of the intellect and the soul and even the very breath and the spirit. What Job is saying is that under divine influence a person can gain understanding into the mind and the Spirit of the Almighty. God actually breathes His life into the life of man in order for humanity to become spiritual. It is the same Word used in Genesis 2:7 when God formed man. He put the inspiration of God in Adam. It is also the same Hebrew word that the Psalmist used in Psalm 150:6 when he said “let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord”. What the writer is saying is that the inspiration of God has been breathed into the life of man, and with every single breath of air we take, we should be inspired to Praise Him!

Creativity is the first gift given to every human being. It remains as an untapped, unknown potential until unlocked. Once it is opened it releases, not the human spirit, but the Spirit of God. When God spoke those beautiful words, “Let there be”, it was like a painter with an empty canvas making the first delicate strokes of a masterpiece. It was like the potter seeing a piece of clay but not just for its current function. He sees the potential being molded in His skilled hands becoming an incredible work of art.

Creativity has always been linked to artistic expression. The sounds of music like rushing waters, rustling trees, or the whistling of the air. The variation of colors like that of the rainbow, the ever-changing sky, and the seasonal mix of unparallel proportions. Even life itself is displayed in variance. From minerals to vegetation, from animals to human beings, the earth is full of the breathe of God. It is as if God took a piece of Himself and made something remarkable.

In my mind are many things of profound revelation, personal convictions, and real life issues. For a person like me it becomes difficult to focus on one single thought in order to birth a concept or idea or dream into reality. Inspiration is the driving force behind creative action, but where must that inspiration begin. Surely my heart, mind, and spirit must come into alignment first so that one special thought can come into a measure of beginning. Creativity is simple, the unlocking of God-birthed potential. It is the ability to bring something into the realm of reality where that one thing never existed before. The fulfillment of life must come from the expression of the heart. The emphasis on success, money, and fame does not even compare to a life that lives its dreams. Where is my potential? Can someone else draw that out of me? Is it something so powerful that only a deity can unveil it in its truest form? I am not sure but my best idea is that no one person has achieved greatness outside of the understanding that they were born to be great. Along with that understanding comes the discipline to invest into that greatness. I continually listen to preacher after preacher on different media networks talk about the principles of life. It seems that their method of unlocking favor or the release of anointing must come from some monetary exchange. Although I totally agree with seed faith and the principle of sowing and reaping, I cannot help to wonder if these principles have become a way to manipulate people into believing that they must settle for mediocrity.

The main intention of prophecy is to encourage, exhort, and build up. Any person flowing in the prophetic has the opportunity to release creative ability in others in order for them to fulfill their destiny. The Prophet must be inspired in order to release inspiration. What drives a person to pursue their passions is determined by what inspires them. We must cultivate and develop that inspiration. Jesus said He did nothing unless He received it from the Father. His inspiration came from the Father. If our motives and inspiration comes from a different source, then we will get into a soulish arena and that will be dangerous for everyone. So the question is. How do I cultivate inspiration? I believe there are several things that we can do as prophetic ministers to nurture that inspiration. I will give seven.

Number 1– We must Remember Who We Represent.

Many men and women of God forget the source of their inspiration. They have a tendency to believe that they were the ones that accomplished these things and they neglect to give glory and honor where it belongs. Myles Monroe said in his book, “Rediscovering the Kingdom,” that “Good ambassadors never speak their personal opinions, but only the official policies of the government that appointed them.” I can not tell you the number of times that I have found myself in tears because of the Lord’s faithfulness to release the prophetic anointing in me when I knew that I personally had nothing to give. I have learned that when I give Him the credit He never leaves me empty handed. When we recognize the author and the finisher we will always be inspired because He is always looking for an opportunity to reveal Himself. When you and I realize the value and the trust that the Lord has bestowed upon us to represent His kingdom, we should never lack for inspiration.

Number 2 – We must Value the Call.

One of the big tragedies in the Body of Christ is that many people don’t value their call. I submit that if one does not value their own calling then, they can not expect someone else to. John the Baptist was doing something that no one else in history had done before. He was considered a great prophet but the new thing he was doing was baptizing people. Even the religious leaders were astonished by what he was doing. What gave this man the courage to step out and do something no else had done before? I believe it was because he knew that what he was doing was ordained by God and John valued the anointing. When Jesus came down to John in Matthew chapter three, He does something for John. When Jesus declared that He needed to be baptized by John for righteousness to be fulfilled (see verse 15), He validated the call and anointing on John. When we value the anointing and the call, the Lord will validate it. When we allow the anointing to inspire us privately, He will prove us publicly. We should be inspired knowing that He has called us.

Number 3 – We must Practice Presence.

The greatest inspiration that has ever came into my life was not in the pulpit preaching to the multitude, it was not seeing the deaf hear or the blind see, and it was not prophesying accurately. The most motivated I have been is when I have been alone with no one else except the Holy Spirit. I believe the key to success can only be found in the place of His presence. The minister who does not practice being in His presence when no one is looking becomes unqualified to handle His presence when the crowd has assembled. Jesus as our example showed us that being in the presence of the Father was more important than being with the people. I will talk about this more concerning the secret place in Chapter 6.

Number 4 – We must Surround Ourselves with Prophetic -Minded People.

If we were to ask any famous artist such as a musician or Hollywood star where they get their inspiration, they will tell us of the people that influenced them along the way. It is no different from the prophetic minister. Sometimes pride keeps us from allowing others to inspire, encourage, and even sometimes rebuke us. Every Prophet needs to be in relationship with other prophetic people. When we look at the Old Testament pattern for ministers and for the school of the prophets, we find something of a principle. The most effective prophets and leaders had a predecessor. Elisha had Elijah, Joshua had Moses, Samuel had Eli. The New Testament gives us more examples. The 12 had Jesus, Timothy had Paul, and Gaius had the Apostle John. There are those who we can glean from as Spiritual mentors and even spiritual fathers. We need to take the attitude of humility and learn from others that have the same gift that we have. Learn to celebrate in other people the gift(s) that you have in common. In order to cultivate inspiration we must learn to receive from others.

Number 5 – We must Focus on Our Family.

My wife Michele and I recently celebrated 10 years of marriage. I gave her a little note that told her of my continued love and how much she inspires me. You may be thinking what does this have to do with the prophetic anointing? If a person can not be inspired by the ones they love then they will be an empty vessel and their prophecies although valid, will be delivered with a callousness that won’t be effective. I don’t believe that the modern day Prophet is to have a personality that does not reflect the love of Christ. I told Michele that I wanted to give her the dream of her heart because everyday with her is my dream fulfilled. I know it sounds like a card that you buy at a gift shop, but it is absolutely true. My wife inspires me to be a better husband, my children inspire me to be a better father. What a shame for a person to be considered a great Prophet but a horrible spouse or parent. My family inspires me to lead them into the presence of the Lord. I am convinced that the intensity of prophetic anointing on my life has a direct correlation to the relationship with my family.

Number 6 – We must Treasure the Word.

I am amazed at the limited amount of time ministers spend in the Word of God. I am not just talking about the study and knowledge of the Word, but allowing the Lord to reveal Himself through His Word. No matter how much a person knows, when the light of revelation is illuminated, there is nothing to compare it to. I heard of a story where Pastors in Africa were gathering monthly to exchange chapters from the Bible because they only had one to go around. They would be so excited to receive the new verses that they would literally run home to get alone with their Word. They were not motivated to preach a new sermon, but to receive a fresh revelation of the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I remember after hearing this story that I prayed this prayer to the Lord. “Lord I pray that your Word would be hidden in my heart ( Ps.119:11) so much that if it was ever taken from me where I did not have access to it, I would still know it.” The Lord spoke to me and said,” Then read it.” At that moment I realized that in all of my life as a Christian I had never read and devoted myself to the Lord. We want the benefits of the Word, but we must have the discipline in the Word. The Bible is the more sure Word of prophecy (II Peter 1:19). If we are in the Word, we will be inspired by the Word, so that when we release the Word, others will receive the Word.

Number 7 – We must Ascend in Worship.

We must ascend in worship before we descend in war. Jesus always ascended to the mountain before descending to war with the religious spirits. He prepared His heart in worship so that His heart would not give in when the battle ensued. The prophetic anointing has enemies as we will discuss in Chapter 8. Those enemies have one goal and that is to disrupt, discourage, and destroy, the prophetic anointing. When we ascend into worship we see what the angels see. We understand that victory is already been won. We can say with confidence that when the enemy comes in like a flood, My God shall raise up a standard (Is 59:19). Worship puts us back into a position of being in awe of God. We worship the things that are mysterious and amazing.

“When we have learned what worship is we have experienced what wonder is.…In that sense, worship is not only a science in that there is a discipline to it, but it is an art in that there is a beauty to it.” (Zacharias)

True worship reveals the heart of humanity toward its Creator. It recognizes that without the Almighty One, there could be no collective. The prophetic anointing functions at it highest measure when the vessels remain in awe of their Maker.

Chapter One – The Prophet’s Prayer by Pastor Roddie Nelson

Friday, July 10th, 2009

“The prophet and the martyr do not see the hooting throng. Their eyes are fixed on the eternities.” – Benjamin Cardozo

As we embark on this journey to understand the prophetic anointing and reveal the heart of God concerning His sons and daughters, I feel that it is appropriate that we commence with a prayer that I feel should be at the core of every Prophet, prophetic minister, or someone desiring to understand the prophetic anointing. Before I unveil the prayer I feel it is necessary that we understand the motive for the prayer. It is not a prayer to get God to bless us, or give to us things. It is a prayer with one single focus and that is that He will reveal Himself to us. He is the center of all that we do and our heart must be to encounter His presence in order to reveal His purposes. The Lord is not hidden from those who search for Him and He is always faithful and ready to disclose His truths. With these things in mind, I want to begin with what I call the Prophet’s prayer. You may want to say this aloud or even memorize it.

Father God, I am here as Your servant, Your friend, and Your son/daughter. I come before You humbly and yet boldly asking You to reveal Yourself to me. I desire to be a mouthpiece for You and I long to see the moments when Your glory is revealed and Your presence released. Give me the eyes to see what You see. Give me Your perspective. Help me to see with the eyes of compassion. Teach me to hear Your voice. May it sound like thunder so I won’t mistake its power but let it be sweet like honey so I can receive it with gladness. Help me to only convey what You give me. Purify my heart and cleanse my mind. Make me Holy for you are Holy. Help me to be sensitive to You Holy Spirit and give me the courage to open my mouth. In this time and at this place and at this very moment use me as a vessel for Your honor. Release the prophetic anointing in me. Expose Your heart to me. Reveal through me Your purposes and plans. Use me to encourage, strengthen, and comfort Your people. Lord Jesus I acknowledge that Your testimony is the Spirit of prophecy. May everything I say and do escort people back to You. Validate Your presence and confirm me as Your servant. I pray that You will receive all Glory, all Honor, and all Praise. I Love You! In Jesus name. Amen!

Eternity is something that has been wrongly equated as futuristic. When people think of eternity they think of heaven and/or hell. It seems so distant until there is a tragedy such as a loss of life or some other circumstance that makes a person think of the future. I submit that eternity is neither futuristic nor ancient. Eternity has always been and will always be. Yes there is an eternal place that every soul will find itself in one day; however, I believe that the prophetic anointing does not simply allow us to look into the future and predict an outcome. The prophetic allows us to look into the eternities and see from a divine perspective the thoughts and intents of the Lord concerning a matter. Jesus showed us eternity and many of us miss it because of the future. He said in Matthew 5:17 to repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand, which means it is near or here. What Jesus was saying is that with Him He has brought a kingdom so close to us that we can touch it. It is almost tangible. It is a dimension where we can experience the kingdom NOW! Jesus walked on the earth as a man, but although He became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14) , He has always been. Jesus is not limited by time or space. John 1:1 begins by saying: ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.’ Before time began, Jesus was. Before He walked on this earth for thirty-three and a half years He was sitting somewhere beyond time and space. That place is called eternity. The prophetic can not operate from a fleshly carnal viewpoint. It must be birthed in the realm of His kingdom, so that when we see eternity we can invade the realm of earth from the perspective of heaven.

Let me give a personal example. I grew up in a Spirit-filled church where giftings and prophetic utterances were very excepted. My father being the Pastor would invite many prophets to come and minister at the church. All of my life I have been around prophets. I tell you this to inform you that I never wanted the mantle of a prophet based on what I considered the responsibilities and the personality requirements to be a prophet. Eventually I took over as Pastor of the church I grew up in. I was pretty happy being a Pastor. The call had been confirmed by other respected men of God. My church had begun to grow. One day a man came to the church and he said something over my wife, Michele, and I that I did not receive as from the Lord until later. I want to quote this so as to get the entire meaning. This prophecy was given on May 26th 2002 by Dr. Prega Gounden.

“Father I thank you for this couple. Thank you that as a little young man you called him into the ministry. Like you said to Jeremiah, before you were even born, you knew him. And you called him to be a prophet to the nations. Even though you are the Pastor of this church, there’s a prophetical mantle over your life. And you’ll flow into the prophetical at times that’s beyond your own understanding, because God has anointed you with the prophetical. So I place my hands upon both of you, side by side, together with one another; you declaring things and your wife will confirm it. She’ll be your partner and spouse, that will be confirming everything that you will be declaring, over individuals, over nations, over situations and circumstances. And the enemy would try everything in his best to come against both of you to bring about a division so that you’ll not walk in unity. But today I break down those powers of darkness in the name of Jesus, that you’ll stand side by side together with one another, walking in harmony and unity, breaking down the forces of darkness and every negative thing that has been spoken over your lives, I cancel it in the name of Jesus tonight, and I impart Lord an anointing over this couple that will break the yoke of bondage in the lives of others, and so I bless them tonight in Jesus’ name. Amen”

The purpose of this is to show how a person can be at the center of the will of God and still miss their destiny. When I was given this word, I remember thinking that it was a good word, but not for me. After all, I was called to be a Pastor. Yes, for that moment in time I was, but what the Lord allowed this man to do was to see into the realm of eternity and release it into reality. I did not want to be a prophet to the nations, but the Lord knows my end from my beginning. The truth is that what the Lord revealed to this man I could not yet grasp. My heart was set on being a Pastor for the rest of my life. But what this word did was release heaven into earth and it impacted the world around me. I am still more comfortable being called Pastor but I know that the prophetic mantle is upon my life. Allow the Lord to use you to be an instrument of change. This man came from India and although I did not believe his word then, I now know that it was true because every word of it is still coming to pass in my life.
